Me and my ‘not so’ bright ideas….

The kitchen needed tiling and funds were short
I could build a mosaic, now there’s a thought.

A friend gave me some old tiles and a mallet
My dear old Dad the pennies for the grout, no sweat.

Just what I needed over Christmas, a project
That would keep me quiet and creative – perfect.

Two months on I think I’ve hit ‘the wall’ or something like it
My hands are cut to ribbons but I’m not in a position to quit.

Just one more wall to fix tile bits too, as the edges are done
Oh look there’s goes my enthusiasm; b*@@***s, I now have none!

Only two thirds left to grout, three layers between each tile
There is no short cut here, I must remember how to smile.

Why did I give up booze? Till this point I haven’t wanted a drop
Any excuse, and I mean any, causes me to down tools and stop.

So there we go, angst now blogged and hands given a rest
I shall continue with my ‘bright idea’ and give it my best.

To my friends when we natter and I say ‘What do you think of this?’
Ask me to think it through will you, before I hurtle into my next creative abyss.

Thanks x
