Love, kindness and affection ease the journey……be aware of how you let people treat you.

I was walking with the boys in the park this morning and there was one of those ‘self styled’ Boot Camp instructors with his posse of women. He was putting them through their paces and as we drew level all the ladies hit the deck and started doing press-ups. What stopped me in my tracks was how he was handling them; not only was he yelling (and that is helpful to whom?) but he was correcting their posture with his feet and not so gently either.

If he has any empathy at all my facial expression and the words forming in my head were plain to read as we locked eyes for some time ……. ironically at least it stopped the movement in his feet for a while. No, I don’t think for a minute that he understood the thoughts I was sending his way as I felt he was eyeing me up as a potential recruit; hell will freeze over before that happens (I don’t like to use the word ‘never’).

Be aware of how you let people treat you.

I have many people who sit in front of me saying that they can’t set boundaries because they have been accused of being hard or unkind when they do so. Think about the person saying this to you as maybe they are talking about their own issues and it is easier for them to attach these labels to you rather than handle their own ‘stuff’.

Making your boundaries clear is a good thing to do.

A big thank you to the ‘special piece of chocolate in my fridge’ – you are an absolute delight to talk to and I am still chuckling – much love and laughter coming from me to you xx
