Guilt and all the trappings that go with it……kick it to the touchline

Liz and I held our first charity palm and tarot card reading evening last night and much laughter echoed throughout this house…we are definately going to do it again.

There is a theme becoming apparent in all the readings we do and our subsequent conversations with people and it is one of guilt. Things go wrong, people have challenges, hard decisions cause pain, life can chuck such a lemon at you that the ‘splat’ can be heard from miles away and sometimes a small incident can trigger a very emotive response in you and all these can cause guilt.

With guilt we lose our sense of perspective and find ourselves taking on other’s problems and difficulties thereby taking responsibility for them.

When things go wrong you feel bad enough without taking guilt on board as well. Be kind to yourself put the guilt down as you are doing the very best you can at any given moment. Try not to beat yourself up by feeling guilty as it’s a good bet that you are feeling bad enough about the situation you find yourself in anyway and you are already taking responsibility for your own actions, so you don’t need to compound it all with guilt.

Guilt like worry is a waste of your time, energy and can rob you of sparkle.
