Past memories hold emotions and feelings and that makes the feelings and emotions old…pondering on letting go of the ones that pull us down…

Wouldn’t it be great if we had a ‘heart’ wash cloth and we could wipe away the emotions and feelings that rise up when we are reminded of a memory that is not a happy one?

The feelings and emotions that rise up are attached to a past event and therefore old; we have taken the wisdom from that event so the feelings and emotions are not relevant to how we live now yet they are still as strong as if it were happening now.

There is no quick fix here but every change we make starts with a belief that we can change and then we follow this with small steps forward gathering the momentum that effects change.

I think we can create our own wash cloths. If we really want to put something down then the help is there. Look around you at the people in your circle as there is a wealth of wisdom, love and support there. Listen to how others have coped and changed things in their world and take the strands that resonate with you. Pick up books that you are drawn to. Make a plan. Write yourself a letter. Call on professional help is you feel unable to make that start but have the desire to do so. Ask for help.

Old emotions and feelings can trap us and make us fearful but a wash cloth can start to clean anything up and allow hope to shine again.
