Simple things are sometimes the best and mean the most…..

'Happy' by Edward Monkton

Simple things…… no order of importance

The humid heat has disappeared so Em’s make-up won’t melt as she prepares for her Leavers Ball later today,
Our roses are in full bloom underneath Em’s beautiful painting in the dining room and their fragrance threads throughout our home,
Em and I pick up the phone and my Mum/Gran is there for us to chat to,
The strange pain in my Dad’s leg has gone this morning,
Ben and I are still the first waking thought for each other even though our diaries have clashed for the last fortnight,
I get to put the finishing touches to my ‘huge’ painting project today,
There is squirty cream on top of my cup of coffee,
Mr Tesco does home deliveries,
Em has agreed to do the ironing as she ‘relaxes’ this morning,
Tonight our psychic development group starts again for a six week run,
I hold a little one in my arms and we look at each other with such love and understanding that words are unnecessary.
