It’s never too late to be who you might have been – George Eliot

George Eliot (the pen name used by Mary Ann Evans) once wrote ‘It is never too late to be who you might have been’. Mary found a way of fulfilling her life purpose.

I count my blessings every time I stand at my kitchen sink (really!!) as I get to look out onto my garden and beyond to the beautiful trees in the park and it is like living right in the middle of the country. I love it.

Anyway, I was standing washing-up this weekend and I set my intention to start writing my book. I have been talking and prevaricating for so long that I am starting to bore myself with this one. The instant, and I mean the very instant, I set this intention my internal voice sprang to life;

‘Why would anyone want to read what you have to say’
‘What makes you different’
‘What makes you think you can do it’
‘You don’t know how to do this’
Etc..etc…you get my drift….

I laughed aloud at myself and then laughed even harder when my ‘boys’ didn’t even stir as they are obviously used to my odd behaviour by now.

Everyone has a purpose; their own unique ‘voice’, talent, skill and ability. With the claxon type calls of life it can get drowned out, but never completely though, because as faint as it is you can still hear it if you listen in the stillness of your heart.
