The facts of our lives do not define us…..the strands of the tapestry we weave today is what we will be tomorrow….

You are not defined by your circumstances. If you are broke, divorced, a single parent, in debt, made redundant from work, working too many hours, living alone, ill, facing bankruptcy, losing your business or your home ….. these are facts, just facts, and if we allow ourselves to be defined by these facts then we are limiting ourselves. Facts do not define us.

It is our tales that define us. The strands in the tapestry of life around us are where our emotions sit and this forms the tales of our life and what defines us in our own minds. The choices we make, the actions we take, the changes we make, the people in our close orbit and how we feel about all of this. Every fact has a tale wrapped around it. When the tale of past events is your definition today then this is what you carry forward. If you are weaving a new tale into your tapestry then this will be your reality tomorrow.

If I asked you what you are, what would be the first word that comes out of your mouth?
