By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest – Confucius

Dictionary definition of wisdom:

The quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise.
The soundness of an action or decision with regard to the application of such experience, knowledge, and good judgment.

I have been heard to repeatedly say in the last few days that no-one is defined by the actions, thoughts, opinions or ‘modus operandi’ of anyone else. We define ourselves and live by our own wisdom.

I think to be truly wise; self-knowledge and understanding of ‘why you do what you do’ is the core of wisdom.
