This is one of my favourite quotations and it reflects how I chose to live my life.

Whilst out yesterday we stopped by Em’s old school and collected all her Sixth Form artwork where for two years she explored and experimented with her creativity. The painting on my blog today now has pride of place above our front room mantlepiece and my camera has not done it justice. It is simply beautiful and I know by looking at it that Em is not afraid to throw off her bowlines.

Last night Em told me that she saw a poster in a shop recently saying ‘We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars – Oscar Wilde’ and she wanted to buy it for me, but the cost stopped her. Her comment ‘I didn’t need to buy it Mum because you and I see the stars every day’ caused me to go quiet for some time.
