We are ‘the girls’ and today is road trip day…whey hey!

Today Em and I are off on a road trip to visit another Uni as part of her Plan B and we are looking forward to it. We love these road trips as we have a great deal of fun on them and our Uni assessment routine is now honed to a fine art.

Preparing for it yesterday I had a sobering thought. No, not that Em is flying the coop, empty nest kind of thought but another one altogether.

Things evolve don’t they and we are sometimes unaware of them. I got stuck writing a sentence yesterday and asked Em to have a look for me. I had wrapped two sentences together with an ‘and’ and once they were separated and re-structured their meaning became clear. Marvelous! Thanks Em I said and carried on writing…then came the thought. Em has become my Editor and she is very good at it. Ooops, this little chick is off in September to go do her own thing and I have books to write which is my thing.

Time to start making some daily adjustments to ease this transition for us both.

Hey Em I know you are reading this Darling so if you could just help me edit this first book of mine the Mothership would be very grateful!!!

Wonderful the way you Brits call college “Uni”! Love it. And I’ll just be that loving daugther Em will find a way to do a little editing for you online after September! Have a FAB roadtrip, you girls!

Oh Rose we had a great day and now have a solid Plan B for Em, so whatever her re-mark is she has a path forward. She and I both know that she will go where she’s meant and we did have such fun xx

I know just how you feel. Each of my kids are gifted with different qualities/skills, that I’ve come to depend on. Now they both live far away. I rarely ask for input these days, but the internet and additional technology make it possible to reach out for visits and for help when I need it.

Enjoy the Uni visiting experience. I remember it nervously but fondly:)

Hello Elena we bring them up to fly with their own wings and are so proud of them when they do, but of course our lives change when they move away. Em has requested Saturday lunches and pottering about the shops though wherever she goes so all the Unis have been in striking distance of a few hours! We have had a great day and I hope you have too xx

Life is just one long transition. It evolves form one thing to another thing. As we keep moving forward, it has to.
Yay on your road trip! You know I’m a big fan of them too. Enjoy the journey Jane.
Much love and many hugs to you and Em!
