Life’s little funnies …

Tis late at night and I am doing my blog post ahead of time
For I’m due in London Tuesday for the day to earn an extra dime.

Yesterday turned out to be a rather glorious day
With things flowing well which lifted me from the usual fray.

In no order of importance and for the sake of a good rhyme
I will list them here so you can see why I had such a good time.

I got to speak with my good friends PQ, Hayles and our sparkly Jess
Love, laughter and sharing are the best shields against stress.

Looking out of our kitchen window I saw a sight that gave me great delight
Two ducks had stopped by to visit and swim on our pond – they looked just right.

Mid morning the perfect text pinged onto my phone, oh what a lovely surprise
Well done my caped crusader for taking time to think of me as you flew the skies.

I cracked the technical problems that have beset me as I’ve built my web site
My Facebook and Twitter widgets are working…Yay I’m saved from further fight.

My eBay ads went great guns for the little Steptoe and Son enterprise
And some hardy folk have already come out to claim their prize.

I managed to mend the hoover, you see the clean filters highlighted a broken drive belt
Some handy work with a screwdriver, it’s all fixed and you’ve no idea how good I felt.

So as I rested at the end of the day and considered it all
I smiled in my deep bubble bath and thought ‘Well today I have had a ball’.

Love your duck visit and your mending the Hoover and your widget wizardry and your friends and that fantastically hilarious “Little Stephen King” cartoon! I suspect that was me at least once a week in about the second grade with stories from our weekly spelling words!
