Kindred spirits…..

I was buying groceries recently and a bunch of Gladioli had fallen out of one of the water tubs, with the stems still tightly in bud and their bottoms bone dry. They were going to be thrown away and I asked if I could have them. As I unpacked my groceries at home, I plunged them into cold water, then later trimmed the stems and popped them into vases dotted about my peaceful bubble. They opened up next morning and are a glorious deep purple.

Life has been messy lately and I have felt ‘out of water’. I flowed along, showing up and trying to nurture my balance. As opportunities presented themselves, I felt a personal responsibility that I needed to run with them all, as if divine timing was at play. My reasoning being that bills needed paying and life keeps going. I felt more weighed down with each day unfolding, then a thoughtful friend from across ‘the pond’ reached out.

Pete, (Grandfathersky), sent an email and attached a book that he had bought a few years ago. It is about all the different things you can do from home to generate income and nestled within it’s pages was a ‘spark’. I shared the spark with the ‘Aqua Babes’ and their loving support fanned it into a flame. I chopped some wood and have started to build a fire around that flame.

The love from kindred spirits that flows into my days, wrapped me in a space where I recalled all the times that ‘sparks’ have lifted me before. I was able to sense which other options were weighing me down and release them.

I am grateful for the kindred spirits who share space, without the need to control, or cage.

‘You are you, just as you are and I am here for you, just as I am. Let’s just be.’ ❀

    Jane dear,
And I can’t agree more with Ian when he said “So lovely to discover there are still some in the world who are others focused”.
In this world of I-Me-Myself >>> what Peter (grandfathersky) did was a lovely breath of fresh air.
    Luv and hugz,

Oh, Jane! I’m sorry I haven’t been around much and missed this post. Thank goodness for the loving kindness and thoughtfulness of friends! I am so pleased you found that spark and a fire has been kindled. The gladioli are gorgeous – what a colour!

Amazing what will bloom when we give them the TLC needed.. And so pleased that your kindred spirits were able to rekindle the sparks that then fanned themselves into the flames that warmed your heart..

We are never alone.. And often such sparks ignite us back into life..

Wishing you a Peaceful and Harmonious Weekend with less stress surrounding your fire..

What a lovely metaphor. I feel God takes our bone dry spirits at times & revives us to bloom again. Especially when he sends people like you and Pete into my pond. ( I know him well too!) & I love the way you use metaphors to describe things!!!

Thanks Di. I have been adding a crocheted edge to a knitted wrap this afternoon and that is real soul food for me. I love Pete, he’s a good buddy. This global village (as he calls it) that we share has a wonderful, like minded spirit energy about it and ‘Yay’ for that and all who sail on her waters. Hugs for you, with much creative ❀ xXx

Friends ARE sparks in our life to help us keep our fire going, no doubt about it. I love this post, Jane. You had me right away with gladiolas. My mom over all of her years (she’s 93 now) had bouquets of gladiolas in our house growing up, and I continued with the tradition in my home, and now my children do the same in their homes! Every summer we send text photos of the bouquets of glads that we have scattered in our homes. It’s so loving and a tribute to my mom (who has dementia now). But when I bring her a bunch of glads, she smiles widely. xo

CPR for Gladioli, and a recognition that all life is precious. My wife keeps rescuing sick plants, with the result that we live in a jungle, but the bees love us. How kind of your transatlantic friend, to think of you so. I see your meaning about the way a spark can become a flame – no, no tagline to that, just sincerity. Hugs, me darlin’ and may the rain stay away!

Awww Fred, you are a lovely buddy, thank you. The day started overcast and the tide is now coming in under a beautiful blue sky. I have a hospital shelf for sick plants in my bathroom. Love that your wife nurtures poorly plants. You would have chuckled here on Sunday and today. I had a crack at making bath bombs with mixed success and much turning the air blue. Well, today I viewed the dried results and I have three complete saleable bombs and a bathroom full of rejects with many scented baths to come. I try….chuckling as I write this. Sending you many appreciative hugs. xXx more hugs xXx

Synchronicity always reminds me of the wonderful interlocking beauty of the Universe and its eternal unjudging benevolence…
Apart from the universe’s gift of the gladioli, I was fascinated by you quoting chop wood and carry water… I’ve been saying it for days, and even wrote it in another blog comment this morning…
Dearest Jane..may the sparks burst into flame in your loving life, and know that even here, half a world away in the antipodes, I feel the love you send out , and know that as you give, so shall you receive.
Love from so many lives you’ve touched is always flowing towards you…
Loved the idea of you knitting your way to peace of mind and clarity…
    it’s such peaceful pursuit !!!!

Lovely Valerie, I treasure our connection and thank you for your loving comment. I was thinking about you this morning, and the forest you share. Each day is fresh and love flows. I am learning to gift myself the time to be creative. It’s so peaceful here this morning and I know you can feel that loving calm as my thought and energy reach out to you. xXx ❀

one of my favorite blooms, Jane and I don’t believe I’ve ever seen them in that color…. ❀ β€œ…if anything matters then everything matters. Because you are important, everything you do is important. Every time you forgive, the universe changes; every time you reach out and touch a heart or a life, the world changes; with every kindness and service, seen or unseen, divine purposes are accomplished and nothing will be the same again.” ❀

As always a gentle soothing flow makes this a comforting read. The juxtaposition of the water and fire analogies might have jarred, but they don’t. I hope that your new venture pans out well!

I am liking that – lets just be. trouble is sometimes there isnt time to wait to see what will unfold. I seem to lurch from one problem to another but I like your way of thinking and in some way I think the divine whatever sent you to me. I only found you from another Blog and I thought, just for the hell of it, I will click on one of her followers and see where I end up. And it took me to you. Fate, eh?
