‘Sploring…..

Mum, Dad and I headed off to Anglesey, an island off the North Welsh coast, for a week recently. A thoughtfully equipped bungalow, nestling above a beautiful bay, gave us a cosy foundation and we had a grand week ‘sploring.

We were on the east coast of the island and the peace there is unique. Friends from North Wales came to visit and we also visited friends who live there (lucky souls). No SatNav in the car was a gift, because with much laughter and lots of ‘How about going left, or right?’ at different junctions, gave our ‘sploring a magical touch.

Dad got to rip it up on his scooter on various promenades and he went steam train riding with a buddy. Mum, a friend and I discovered a wonderful knitting shop in a tiny fishing village, where it’s possible we covered her takings for the day. We had ice creams, yummy meals and a memorable lunch by a lake in the middle of nowhere. Mum and I went beach combing, collecting treasures for my creations. Farms, bays, a lighthouse, little islands, estuaries full of yachts and boats and happy pausing places for coffee and hot chocolate were discovered along the way.

We had time together creating heart memories and that is the greatest gift. ❤ Our 'sploring added a different dimension to it all! ❤

Remember When loving care decorates the heart…

remember-when

Remember When tearoom reach out with love and save a space every Thursday morning for their knitting group to meet. There are many blessings that come from being part of this group in this special place.

It’s like stepping back in time and we are all wrapped in care as we are offered toasted teacakes, toast and hot drinks. There is a wonderful assortment of china teacups, teapots and cafetieres of fresh coffee, with jam and butter in glass dishes. We sit there each week sharing each other’s news and life snippets surrounded by antiques, collectables and love. It takes us all back to a bygone era where people had time to listen to each other, without the interruption of technology. In this peace bonds have formed that hum with golden light and love. It is also a wonderful source of shared creative knowledge and experience as we help each other with our various projects. If any of us need help in life, then we know we can reach out and the others will be there. There are also moments where it is unsafe to take a sip of tea or coffee as the light hearted in our midst time their hilarious one liners with unerring accuracy and drink can spurt out of noses and across the beautifully laundered tablecloths, often! Go the girls….. ❤

A while back we all agreed to get together for a Christmas tea in our special place and we had a savings pot that was added to each week. This week our moment came and this is a picture of our get together. ❤

We also gathered together late yesterday afternoon to run a stall in the tearoom supporting local charities and the Christmas Street Fayre outside. We will be running the stall again this Thursday morning, as we realised how our loving bonds translate into a cracking display of teamwork. Plans for next year are already being made. ❤

Sweeping out and stepping out for a while….

I am missing clumps of hair where I pulled them out yesterday trying to program my web site, so today I am giving myself a break from that.

My furniture business has gone a bit quiet and I watched the last completed pieces sell this week. My workshop is freezing and the paint won’t dry in there so I am painting in our little brick built (fan heated) shed. Decision time, I will continue with the furniture but I need to clear my workshop and put the untouched very large pieces back into the auction. Man with van organised, workshop to be swept out and new creativity will then start.

Time to take a leaf out of my friend the lovely Jacqueline’s book and step away for a day.

This morning I am going out for a coffee with entertaining company and this afternoon Em and I are going on a road trip to our favourite haunt to have a rootle around for smaller furniture items to be brought back to life with my paint.

My friends will no doubt comment ‘Ah ha, Jane is having a bollocks to it all day’.
