‘Sploring…..

Mum, Dad and I headed off to Anglesey, an island off the North Welsh coast, for a week recently. A thoughtfully equipped bungalow, nestling above a beautiful bay, gave us a cosy foundation and we had a grand week ‘sploring.

We were on the east coast of the island and the peace there is unique. Friends from North Wales came to visit and we also visited friends who live there (lucky souls). No SatNav in the car was a gift, because with much laughter and lots of ‘How about going left, or right?’ at different junctions, gave our ‘sploring a magical touch.

Dad got to rip it up on his scooter on various promenades and he went steam train riding with a buddy. Mum, a friend and I discovered a wonderful knitting shop in a tiny fishing village, where it’s possible we covered her takings for the day. We had ice creams, yummy meals and a memorable lunch by a lake in the middle of nowhere. Mum and I went beach combing, collecting treasures for my creations. Farms, bays, a lighthouse, little islands, estuaries full of yachts and boats and happy pausing places for coffee and hot chocolate were discovered along the way.

We had time together creating heart memories and that is the greatest gift. ❤ Our 'sploring added a different dimension to it all! ❤

‘Sploring’, surprises, laughter and new beginnings……

‘Sploring’, surprises, laughter and new beginnings….

Go ‘sploring’, let new ideas and thoughts float up, create new things,
Allow room for change, ditch that structured plan, make space for mystery.

Dare to push yourself just that little bit further than before,
With good intentions held in your heart the universal energy will carry you.

Let the love flow as it is threaded through all our life tapestries,
Hold the hope that all is exactly as it should be right now.

And relax enough to laugh whenever you can as life is full of absurdity,
Trust, move forward and the magic sparks will flow freely, as will you.

Are you worrying about the fact that you worry too much?? What does worry create anyway? More worry and blow that for a lark!

One of the Reiki sayings is ‘Just for today I will not worry’. I was pondering whilst baking this morning on the things we worry about and the short answer is everything.

Worry begets yet more worry.

I have yet to see a chicken, headless or otherwise, racing around in circles as they can always been seen sleeping or pottering about pecking the ground in a determined fashion.

I look across and see our ‘boys’ slumbering peacefully, resting in the sure and certain knowledge that they will have a walk later. If I forget to do this then they will follow me around till I get the message.

Re-arranging that spreadsheet in an impressive fashion won’t change the fact that you are short on funds for paying the bills. So rather than focussing on the lack of finance, stop the worry and talk to trusted friends as a sounding board for ideas or let your mind float free and the answers on how to plug the gap will come. Trust.

If friends do not ‘get’ what you are experimenting with then go ‘within’ and listen to your inner voice. You do not need other folks worries and fears sparking your own.

Try different things; keep ‘sploring’ and evaluating and hang onto what feels right and if it’s right then it will have an energy all of it’s own.

If you worry about something constantly then the outcome will be the one you most fear.

Worry, like perfectionism, can kill the joy in a moment.

Try not to beat yourself up when things don’t go quite to plan or the outcome is not as expected; you tried and nothing is lost in trying. Stopping for a few minutes to pat yourself on the back for trying is a kind thing to do and worrying about whether to try again will stop you in your tracks.

Having a plan is good (I have a sofa coming for planning purposes) but being prepared to evaluate, adjust and change will be the plan’s life blood.

Every time a worry crosses your mind today, pause and try to adjust your thinking. Changing thoughts will change the outcome and allow room for new energy and magic to flow.

A ‘sploring’ we shall go…..

If you go ‘sploring’ all sorts of things can happen:

Em and I discover the perfect sofa and chair in a secondhand furniture warehouse and many happy hours are envisaged snuggling and planning,
An early morning visit to the local market with lovely friends fill our kitchen with gooseberries, blueberries, plums and redcurrants,
Memories of watching my Great Granny and Mum making jam when I was little spring to mind and my heart knows why I love making jam so much,
Fresh gooseberries and oranges make a very tasty jam,
A evening of sound is booked listening to music of the universe with a great friend,
My heart sparks backs to life because a magic elf telephones with the words ‘I have hatched three bantams for you and I will build you a hen house for them’,
Em and I have a great time at a friend’s 40th party with her lovely family and friends,
A psychic development course breathes life and promise into undiscovered areas with far reaching implications,
A pond is given new life because two beautiful Apricot Call ducks are coming to live in our garden,
The same special man has bought the ducks because he knows that when I saw them it was a case of love at first sight,
Yes, he is also building a duck house and my cup runneth over,
The little ones have had hours of fun coming up with names for the bantams and ducks,
Friends eyes gleam at the promise of home baked cakes made with our own fresh eggs,
I find yourself eating half a packet (yes, only half) of Fox’s Crunch Creams whilst blogging ‘sploring’ thoughts.

‘Sploring’, tweaking, making changes and recognising where my dreams and plans have got derailed…..nothing that can’t be fixed!

A fresh batch of marmalade is bubbling away on the stove filling our home with a lovely citrus smell and I have a spare half an hour to write, something that hasn’t happened for some time.

My dreams and the things I was doing to bring them into reality got derailed for a while recently. It happened so slowly I didn’t notice and it wasn’t till my health gave me a wake-up call that I stepped back and understood what a good friend had been gently telling me for quite some time. So I grasped the nettle, started making changes and am nearly there on the ‘gearing up’ front for what I am about to do. I continue to paint, write and offer my psychic work and from August I will have several sewing projects running alongside the other creativity. As soon as our new feathered friends have arrived and settled there will be ‘free range’ cakes being baked and I will have the mental space and peace to bring my book to life. There is an air of W.I. about our kitchen as old fashioned jams and chutneys are created and it is becoming a regular thing to see the good folk who come for readings leaving here clutching a jar or two.

So I continue to keep ‘sploring’, to not be afraid to tweak and make changes as I go along and to be aware of the universal alarm bells before they have to ring too loudly!!!
