Writing on Water…

My bank of dreams has held a precious one for over forty years and during the last few months I have been getting up early to sit and write. A loving friend Pete (grandfathersky) suggested I put a board up on my wall, so I could pin all the ideas and titles for the pieces I was writing. He had the feeling it would all come together in that way and he was right.

Over the past few months, as I sat creating with my sewing, an inner drive to reach out and offer practical support to others grew. The dream became more than writing and it evolved into offering a service uniquely tailored to individual needs. Over the years I have held various training and therapy roles under different corporate umbrellas and I now wish to do it in my natural style. I felt by writing a series of books in an open and heartfelt way, that others in need would feel ‘seen’ and able to ask for support.

Pete (grandfathersky) stepped in and formatted the chapters for me and dug me out of a few technical holes, for which I am so grateful. I was in such a pickle that I was tempted to eat my own body weight in chocolate and his encouraging suggestions came from the heart and were ‘spot on’. ❤

So, here I am with my first eBook published on Lulu:

Feet on the ground…

Blakemere at Delamere Forest

Staying grounded has been a challenge in the last few days and as I am about to bring a project forward into daylight, the pressure has certainly been intense. Loving connections have been welcome and I’m going to write about them, in no order of importance, because they are all held in my heart.

The loving soul who gently transported me to the forest on Sunday and listened as I found my feet.

The buddy I worked with for a long time, who still sails with me every working day as we message back and forth. With just one word or picture, the understanding, support and shared laughter are heart-warming.

My Mum as we sorted a fair few things out and were faced with a few ‘WTH’ moments! May I just mention, that these moments came from others’ bright suggestions, so Mum and I have made a pact going forward. Next time someone suggests something that they breezily say is a doddle to organise we respond with;

‘Ohh, that sounds wonderful. Thanks for sorting that out.’

I also suggested to Mum that we play a new game. Now, brace yourselves, because it is rude. You ask people to play a new version of ‘Hide and Seek’ and it’s called ‘**** off.’ Feel free to insert your own personal choice of word. You ask them if they would like to play and then invite them to go first……..

My soul sister in the Yorkshire Dales who took the time to talk on the phone, listen with awareness, make me laugh and then read some of my new project. Her feedback and support is a loving gift.

And my lifelong friend, from when we were both nineteen years old and working together in the telex room of a well-known petroleum company in Johannesburg. Our bond has never wavered (even though we are now on different continents) and she created a golden moment today that had us both helpless with laughter. I do have her permission to share it.

She messaged ‘I am crocheting a chicken. I have managed to make the legs, but I am stuck on the body. By the way, the pattern is in Russian. Can I email it over?’

How did you find a pattern in Russian???

Well, bless Google translate as we sorted it between us and she’s creating again. It was no surprise to either of us that the title of the pattern was ‘Cock’.

The tide still runs…

Gosh, getting the hang of the new WP editor is fun (not!!). Sometimes change for change’s sake, at other times because life flows in the unexpected.

A few months ago my phone rang on a Sunday morning and Dad said ‘We’re in trouble, can you come?’ My mum was lying in the back yard with a broken hip and wrist.

What flowed from that was a steep learning curve for all of us, with moments of loving grace, sharpness from ‘front line’ living, organisation, getting to grips with new social terminology, healing, care, the kindness of strangers and keeping the ship afloat. All bonded together with fear, resistance to change, quick decisions, prayers and love.

We’re several months down the road and a new routine has emerged. Mum is healing well (down to her indomitable spirit), Dad is less fearful yet poorly, support is in place and I have returned to my home, with regular visits back to flow care. Mum and I ‘sing from the same hymn sheet’ and cherish our teamwork. ❤

The tide still runs outside the house I call home as I pick up the threads of my life and business. Grateful for this peaceful space and treasured friends, who flow with unquestioning love and support.

As I go back into my clients’ homes I find myself asking the question ‘What do you need now?’ The answers have been varied and surprising. Two lovely souls needed help rediscovering the love of their homes, with each home as different as they are. We’ve had fun planning, exploring in local DIY stores and experimenting. The things we’ve purchased on-line have gifted the most fun. I found myself holding some beautiful dolphin decals yesterday , looking at my client and commenting ‘Gosh, maybe we ought to have checked the measurements!’ They are now leaping across her bathroom window and loo seat, raising smiles for all who need her bathroom.

It’s been a sign of discovery for me. ❤

Sending love….

I travelled on the Mersey ferry recently, to see the tall ships in port, and breathing deeply I said out loud ‘I had forgotten how much I love being on the water’.

The picture above is a tug boat starting the Tall Ships regatta at the end of May. I was up on our sky garden watching all the vessels go past. There were very few tall ships this year, so smaller yachts, dinghies and ferries came out to keep them company.

I have invested hours recently setting up a new software platform to broaden the reach of my work. Right at the last knockings, I noticed a clause in their terms and I stopped. Interestingly enough, despite all my research, it does not become apparent till you are about to launch. It smacked of pyramid, multi level marketing and that is so not me. So I un-picked it all. The gifts to come out of this are new ideas.

As I gathered myself together, stilling the critical inner voice, and finding ease with the memories of other times that all my ‘tall ships’ have not shown up, other things have floated in.

The birds have discovered my bath dish on the sky garden and they come to rest, bathe and drink now. They watch me from the trees replenishing it with fresh water.

My Mum has gifted some herbs for the sky garden and they are flourishing in the trough she found to go with them, with some French lavender and lilies nestling beside in their pots.

The ‘Aqua Babes’, from our Zumba pool sessions, are in touch often sharing funny moments, flowing support and we get together to eat and laugh.

A buddy and I are flowing together with ideas on how we work and the best support for that. Two creates the power of ten.

This week saw the start of a local craft group and the energy from that has already created new connections and my knitting friends are flowing in with loving support.

Remember When loving care decorates the heart…

remember-when

Remember When tearoom reach out with love and save a space every Thursday morning for their knitting group to meet. There are many blessings that come from being part of this group in this special place.

It’s like stepping back in time and we are all wrapped in care as we are offered toasted teacakes, toast and hot drinks. There is a wonderful assortment of china teacups, teapots and cafetieres of fresh coffee, with jam and butter in glass dishes. We sit there each week sharing each other’s news and life snippets surrounded by antiques, collectables and love. It takes us all back to a bygone era where people had time to listen to each other, without the interruption of technology. In this peace bonds have formed that hum with golden light and love. It is also a wonderful source of shared creative knowledge and experience as we help each other with our various projects. If any of us need help in life, then we know we can reach out and the others will be there. There are also moments where it is unsafe to take a sip of tea or coffee as the light hearted in our midst time their hilarious one liners with unerring accuracy and drink can spurt out of noses and across the beautifully laundered tablecloths, often! Go the girls….. ❤

A while back we all agreed to get together for a Christmas tea in our special place and we had a savings pot that was added to each week. This week our moment came and this is a picture of our get together. ❤

We also gathered together late yesterday afternoon to run a stall in the tearoom supporting local charities and the Christmas Street Fayre outside. We will be running the stall again this Thursday morning, as we realised how our loving bonds translate into a cracking display of teamwork. Plans for next year are already being made. ❤

Riding nature’s thermals….

dav

I connected with the lovely souls I am blessed to serve this morning and then headed out to go to the open air gym. I didn’t make it that far and instead sat for a good long while watching the sea, The Mersey and the wildlife as the ships went about their business.

The birds were wheeling above riding the thermals. I bet they don’t wake up and think ‘I am struggling, feel poorly, sad, fed-up, etc., etc…….I think I’ll give the thermal riding a miss today’. They keep their ‘being’ in a state of flight and movement and linking into nature, both move in harmony.

I work by connecting with folk as they hit breaks in their thermals, as we all do, with some nose diving straight into the sand, again as we all do at times. I am able to connect with their emotional energy and in turn can hear my spirit guides, ‘my lovely lot upstairs’ as I call them and ‘see’ things in my mind’s eye. It’s all a circle of trust. The lovely folk asking for support trust me, I trust myself and my spirit guides, who in turn trust me and that trust circles for us all. A loving trust. I do not need to hear or meet the souls coming to me for support and I serve them through the written word. Sometimes all I have is their first name and it flows from there. The gift of the written word means that they have something solid that they can draw on and absorb in their own time. It’s all natural.

The support is not telling them what to do, as we all have our own choices to make. We are responsible for these choices as they in turn create our own lives. Different perspectives come through and other views on situations and they are all very much soul led. We are driven by how we feel and a re-writing of parts, or the whole of our life story, can change feelings. Whatever point of their journey folk are at, loving support helps them to make choices to catch a ride on their thermals again. They may be the same thermals and they may not. Life, ever changing as it is, creates new thermals to ride. Loving help is there as we flex our wings.

Of all the different things I have done in my life so far, this is organic. No web site, advertising or any reference point, apart from an email address. Loving words spoken from one soul to another and the ‘ping’ of an email with ‘Hello Jane, can you………’. I know beyond any doubt that it is all from love.

After my recent spell in France I was rather shaken by the profound impact it had on me. I didn’t see that one coming! A new thermal was revealed and upon returning to my seaside home, (which I love), thermals were flowing, but I found myself unable to ride them. Now given how I serve others, I gave myself a clear ‘talking to’ and thought…’Now Jane, it’s time to be a ‘you’ for ‘you’. I voiced this to a trusted friend, which gave me clarity. Sometimes that is all we need….a safe space to ‘voice’ the feelings and thoughts within. So practically I re-arranged my living space, giving it a good early Autumnal ‘spring clean’ at the same time and unearthed some of Lynn’s treasures in storage and arranged them in my ‘new’ space. It worked and I am back to riding the thermals.

There are moments that flow into our hearts and this day has brought some forth: sitting down there watching the sea, with dogs playing and toddlers pottering about, I had a phone call where we were both ‘in sync’ and the shared thoughts brought forth smiles and laughter at both ends of the line. That kind of energy creates it’s own thermal, because when I got home Lynn announced her latest idea. We now have a beautiful arched wooden arbour being delivered for the front yard. We can sit outside, amidst all the flowering pots, and watch the birds catching the thermals.

Loving energy creates thermals. ❤

Magical notes in a day……

DSC_0459

Throughout the summer on weekends in Vale Park we are treated to music. Yesterday I put my knitting bag together and strolled up the promenade, collected a deck chair at the entrance to the bandstand and settled down in the park. Neighbours drifted in and we enjoyed two hours of delight from the Golborne brass band who played everything from the classic marching tunes, songs from WWI and WWII right through to Abba, Queen and Flo Rida.

Little ones danced in front of the bandstand without inhibition, the sailing dinghies were out on The Mersey providing a backdrop through the trees, the bell tinkled through now and then from the Fairy Garden, butterflies flew and there was peaceful happiness in the air.

They ended by playing ‘You will never walk alone’ by Gerry and The Pacemakers. The birds took off from the trees en masse and swirled together to re-settle back on the branches again. Then they took off again and again. It took me a few minutes to realise that they were flying in time to the music. It was magic.

Love flowed when I went to the knitting group for the first time last week. I was welcomed with open arms and I could feel that the loving care in ‘Remember When’ tearoom has touched all of the ladies that join together there every week. We had a lovely time and phone numbers were exchanged with plans being made to have a special Christmas meal together, in the tearoom of course. Lesley has displayed my creativity and the orders are coming in. I am going back there tomorrow, just to have a top-up of the loving atmosphere. ❤

The quiz night last week was hilarious and the banter a joy to be a part of. I feel that the love created from the knitting group in the morning had stayed with me and it went into the hotel bar that night. We were all on top form. There is a camaraderie between the teams and a fair bit of 'sharing' of information, sometimes deliberately misleading…I mean imagine that! The moment that brought us all to our knees with laughter went like this…..

The head of the 'The Know Hopers' called across to the 'The Boys' that she needed a word with her husband, who came across to our table:

'How can I help you my love?' he enquired.

'I fancy some hot nuts' she said.

With deadpan delivery he replied 'I presume you mean peanuts'.
